WE DIDN’T START THE FIRE! But we’ll make sure to extinguish it!
President Trump said that Republicans have to stand up to the House Freedom Caucus in 2018 on Thursday morning, stating that some conservative Republicans who thwarted Trump’s plan to replace and repeal Obamacare better “get on the team,” and “fast.”
“The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don’t get on the team, and fast,” the President posted on Twitter. “We must fight them, and Dems, in 2018.”
Take a look at the Tweet BELOW!
Last week, the President met with Republican legislators and told HFC Chair Representative Mark Meadows that he would “come after” him if he did not support the regulation. However, Meadows and other members of the caucus maintained that they would not support the regulation which in turn forced House Speaker Paul Ryan to cancel the scheduled vote this Friday past.
“Mark, I’m gonna come after you,” said the President at the meeting before adding, “I honestly think that many of you will lose your seats in 2018 if you don’t get this done.”
People from Meadow’s district are pretty upset with his decision to oppose what they say is a poor healthcare reform.
