The mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, has not stopped to implement his plans for making Chicago-only identification card particularly for the reason of making sure that undocumented aliens receive welfare in the city without the risk of being deported. The newest program was announced during a Chicago City Council meeting on Wednesday and it protects undocumented immigrants from federal oversight by not collecting copies of IF documents shown when undocumented citizens apply for the identification card.
“Applicants bring in the documents to prove someone’s identity. They hand them over to specially trained individual who can review the documents and then hand them back … It’s going to capture just the name and the date of birth. It’s not going to capture an address,” stated a source close to those officials for Chicago Sun-Times.
Obama’s Chief of Staff Emanuel has been one of the most vocal people denouncing Trump’s Attorney General Jeff Sessions for trying to terminate federal grants for sanctuary cities like Chicago that refuse to accept Trump’s immigration policies.
The “Municipal ID” program is Rahm’s latest attempt to abstain from the endeavor of the Department of Justice and proceed to be a haven for illegal aliens. Emanuel’s new City Clerk Anna Valencia’s web page explains the Municipal ID as “an optional, legitimate, government-issued ID that they can then use to gain access to a variety of services from both the private and public sectors. ”
In addition to easing the entrance for illegals with government projects, the office of the Clerk also says they are “collaborating with cultural institutions, sports teams, pharmacies, local chambers of commerce and community organizations to check out potential discounts and partnerships.”
The operation is specifically created not just to allow illegal aliens to get cards, but also steer clear of collecting information that may be applied by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to locate undocumented migrants nationwide.
